DISCOVER SUMMERPLACE GAME RESERVE: YOUR PERFECT OUTDOOR ESCAPE!

Summerplace Game Reserve is 3 hours from Johannesburg, and feels like a home away from home. Spanning over 8,648 acres (or 3500 hectares), Summerplace Game Reserve is family owned, and has many outdoor activities to stay entertained with. E-Biking is what they are known for, but they also have game drives, hiking trails, tennis courts, & beach volleyball. My fav part was e-biking right next to all the Giraffes! I was SO impressed by this game reserve and how well it is ran. It feels like you are escaping to a welcoming family farm. There are the cutest doggos on arrival, which stole my heart from the start.

ACCOMODATION

There are 11 different accommodations to choose from. We stayed in the hideout, which was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. It’s super private and the room is gorgeous. I’ve included a video of the room after we checked in 🙂 It’s hard to believe that this is a luxury tent, with an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette. Feeling luxurious while connected with the outdoors and nature is truly a wonderful feeling. I had such amazing sleep in the hideout. The plush king size bed felt like a dream!

E-BIKING

Don’t let all the mountain bikers intimidate you, Summerplace is the PERFECT spot for a beginner! This was my first time ever e-biking and they made it so easy to get set up with a bike and teach you the basics. You can self-guide yourself through the fully fenced and secure reserve, or you can opt for a trained guide to take you around.

GAME DRIVE

We set out before sunset for a Game Drive. Summerplace has its own wildlife which includes rare antelope, giraffes, and zebra. Sundowners are of course included! We stopped at the most beautiful vista point on the property & we were provided snacks and a refreshing G&T.

FOOD

The food was all farm to table, and OMG so good! It tasted like an elevated version of a proper home cooked meal. The ingredients were so fresh and all from the property. I finished every single bite, every single meal.

RELAXATION

After an active day, you truly get to unwind in the best way. The wood fire hot tubs are incredible. We used them as a cold plunge during the day after we were hot from the biking, & heated it up at night to enjoy a night cap under the stars.
