Máximo
Located in the trendy Roma Norte neighborhood, Máximo was MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant in CDMX (Mexico City). The building which was once a auto repair shop, then a pool hall, has transformed into a chic hotspot. The menu changes DAILY, to reflect the availability of fresh, local ingredients. The flavors are Mexican, and dishes are French inspired. It’s no surprise Máximo is a MICHELIN guide restaurant.

Pujol
Pujol has 2 Michelin stars, and this was definitely our boujiest restaurant outing. We did the tasting menu + wine pairing. In 2022, Pujol was number 5 on The World’s Best Restaurants. Chef Enrique Olvera has used the same mole base for over 10 years, and it is one of his most famous dishes. Eating at Pujol really transports you to feel like you’re right in the middle of Mexico City culture and cuisine.

Rosetta
Rosetta is at No.34 The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024! It is located in a beautiful old mansion in the Roma Norte neighborhood. The menu had some interesting items on it, like chicatana ant infused butter and hoja santa leaves. The natural wines here are incredible, I had a glass of an orange wine that I can’t even describe the flavor because it is not like anything I’ve ever tasted before in my life! I’m so happy I took a picture of the bottle.. the first time I stuck to my word and actually looked it up later again when I got home. The orange wine was Partida Creus CX 2020, a crisp and cloudy amber natural orange wine with stone fruit flavors, hints of salt, spice, and dried oranges, medium tannins, and a mineral finish. Funky flavor but like weirdly so so good!

La Docena Oyster Bar & Grill
We found La Docena after driving past it on the way back to our hotel the last night in CDMX! Now researching more into it, it was No.48 Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2023! The vibes, the ambiance, and the food was 10/10! When I think back to dining here, what sticks out in my mind is the GRILLED TRUFFLE OYSTERS!!! Oh. My. God. INCREDIBLE! Like dare I say they are better than hog island’s grilled oysters….. but they are! The truffle ingredients they used in these were so high quality you could taste the difference. The oysters will live rent free in my head forever. The second dish memorable dish is the octopus. I vowed never to eat octopus after watching the documentary my octopus teacher…. but I gave in and tried it. So amazing, so well cooked, so worth breaking that rule.

I hope you found some of this info useful if you’re visiting CDMX! <3
