A review of Elephant Plains Game Reserve in Sabi Sands
I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights at Elephant Plains! I specifically chose Elephant Plains because of it’s location. It is in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve which has the highest density of leopards in South Africa. I really wanted to make sure I saw Leopards and Lions on this Safari trip, and I did! I saw a total of 9 Leopards on my trip and countless lions! As well as the cats, we saw all big 5 while staying at elephant plains!
Elephant plains is a 4 star luxury lodge, but in my opinion everything was 5 star! The suites were beautiful, large, and private with each having it’s own balcony. The food was INCREDIBLE! The lodge staff were so helpful and friendly, very attentive to every guest. Below is an overview of the lodge and the rooms we stayed in!

^They definitely call it Elephant Plains for a reason! We were able to watch many elephants from the balcony of our room
When you walk into the lodge, you’re greeted by the reception desk, following down the hall past a gift shop, you’ll find the best place to be – the bar! There’s a large indoor lounge area, as well as a second level with a library and private balcony space that overlooks the outdoor pool. ALSO there is a massive wine cellar below the bar that you can cool off and lounge at and browse the lodges massive wine collection.
The Lodge

The Rooms!
There’s a couple different choices when it comes to rooms, and we stayed 1 night in one of their Rondavels suites. We did this because the luxury suite wasn’t available for our full stay, however we could have happily stayed in the Rondavel the whole time, it was a beautiful room with a nice balcony view.

The rest of our stay we moved into one of their Luxury Suites! The second room we moved into was huge! Very spacious for 2 people. Included in the rate is daily room tidying and at night room turndown.
